Virgin Mobile, the UK’s fifth network, announced today that it is creating 200 new jobs as part of its continued and rapid expansion. Virgin Mobile’s ongoing success is in marked comparison to the slowdown seen in the rest of the telecommunications industry over the past few months.
The new jobs will be based at Virgin Mobile’s headquarters in Trowbridge, just outside Bath, taking staff numbers at the company to almost 1,500 employees. The company is recruiting customer service advisors for its large customer centre.
Virgin Mobile is currently enjoying rapid growth, and expects to soon report strong sales figures for the first three months of 2002. The company now has more than 1.6 million customers, and is among the fastest growing telecoms companies in the world.
In its Spring recruitment drive the company particularly hopes to attract local people who might have been made redundant from another employer recently; or mothers returning to work; anyone who might enjoy flexible working hours, a friendly, family atmosphere, good pay and membership of the Virgin Group Tribe staff discount scheme, among many other benefits!
Said Andrew Ralston, customer relationship director at Virgin Mobile: “This recruitment drive highlights the ongoing success of Virgin Mobile and our positive outlook for the future. Customer service is one of our top priorities and we want to ensure there are plenty of helpful and enthusiastic staff on hand to advise and assist our customers. We are looking forward to welcoming 200 more staff to our Trowbridge headquarters and continuing to build Virgin Mobile as one of the most successful and fastest growing UK mobile operators.”
