Central London was brought to a standstill on Tuesday [4th March] as supermodel Emma B and an assortment of scantily clad `Love Gods’ posed outside the Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street to launch the new Virgin Mobile ‘Planet Love’ ad campaign.
Emma B, clad in a sexy Barbarella-style outfit of skimpy hotpants and a space age bustier, then boarded the Planet Love truck with the Love Gods and paraded along Oxford Street, with the aim of enticing customers to the Planet Love and the great mobile phone deal on offer in Virgin retail and other mobile phone outlets.
The £2.2 million campaign, which is supported by discounts on all the sexy phones in Virgin Mobile’s range, questions what planet consumers are on in terms of their attitude to their mobile network.
James Kydd, brand director at Virgin Mobile, said: “Planet Love is designed to encourage consumers to consider what they get from their chosen mobile network and to realise that there is much more to be gained from an operator like Virgin Mobile with no line rental, contract to sign or peak rates. We hope that with Emma B’s help, the Virgin Mobile ads will seduce a few people and help them see what else is available on the market.”
