Virgin Mobile, the UK’s fastest growing mobile network, has developed a new national programme of road shows to run over the next three years, backed by a seven figure budget.
The centrepiece of the ambitious road show is a custom-built pair of sleek chrome futuristic-looking vehicles, meaning the road show is able to hit two sites at once at all points during the promotional tour. The vehicles each feature features plasma screens, touch-screen computers, handset demonstrations, luxury seating areas and even a bar! The tour is being organised by promotions agency Zak Facta and a full time promotional team has been hired to manage the vehicles and to talk to potential Virgin Mobile customers.
The tour has been planned to run for three years and will make its way around the entire country several times over. During July 2003 (3rd to 31st July), customers who have purchased a new Virgin Mobile phone can take their receipt, as proof of purchase, along to the road show where they will be rewarded with a free £10 airtime voucher as a bonus gift. There will also be a competition for all visitors to the road show to win a colour screen Nokia 7210.
James Kydd, brand director at Virgin Mobile, said: “We wanted to find an innovative way to take Virgin Mobile directly to our customers. In true Virgin Mobile style, we’ve gone way beyond what people would normally expect from a road show and created a genuinely exciting experience, giving visitors everything from interactive opportunities to the chance to relax and have a chat in the bar!”
