Virgin Mobile scooped two prestigious awards at last night’s Mobile Choice Consumer Awards 2003. Hosted by TV comedian Jack Dee at London’s Olympia, Virgin Mobile repeated its achievements of the past two years by winning the awards for Best Pre-Pay Package, and for Best Customer Service – both for the third year running.
The consumer awards, voted for by the great British public, recognise both excellence and innovation in the mobile phone industry, it was a great coup for Virgin Mobile – the company isn’t yet four years old.
The accolades came just days after Virgin Mobile beat off stiff competition from Cancer Research, Thomas Cook and Scottish & Newcastle Retail to clinch the ‘Complaints Team of the Year’ award at the 'National Customer Service Awards'. Virgin Mobile was honored for being the only network provider to record a reduction in the number of complaints made to Oftel by customers.
Tom Alexander, CEO of Virgin Mobile, said: “Virgin Mobile is an exceptional company, which just keeps going from strength to strength. Our staff are especially thrilled at being recognised by Britain’s phone-buying public for offering the best customer service in the industry, not once, but three years running. I’d like to thank them for all their dedication in making Virgin Mobile so successful, and the public for their ever-increasing support.”
