Virgin Mobile today announced that it has four million customers, confirming its position as the UK’s largest mobile virtual network operator (MVNO).
Virgin Mobile has secured a million net new customers in the eight months since August 2003. This is a record-breaking growth period in the company’s history, which included its best ever quarterly sales figures in the fourth quarter of 2003, when Virgin Mobile added more than half a million net new customers.
Virgin Mobile believes the strong performance is due to a number of factors, including:
Attractive services:
Excellent customer care:
Oftel announced in November 2003 that Virgin Mobile had outperformed the competition by having the highest customer satisfaction levels in the industry, with less than one complaint for every 10,000 customers.
Motivated workforce:
Yesterday a Financial Times survey awarded Virgin Mobile a position in the Top Fifty Places to Work Survey for the second year running.
Tom Alexander, Virgin Mobile’s chief executive officer, said: “Yet again, Virgin Mobile has smashed it’s already impressive growth records, by gaining a million customers in just 8 months.
“Customers are flocking to Virgin Mobile because we give them what they want – simple, honest good-value, and lots of fun, combined with award-winning customer service.”
