Virgin Mobile today unveiled its stunning summer line up of sexy and stylish phones. There are ten new picture-messaging phones in the range, including eight with integrated cameras – marking the launch of Virgin Mobile’s new picture messaging service (MMS), which customers can enjoy using from the 1st July.
Happy snappers can ditch their cameras from this summer. Who wants to just ‘click’ with a camera, when you can now ‘click and send’ with a camera phone?

New picture messaging service (MMS):
Can you hear waves lapping gently against the shore? Can you hear the clinking of ice in your rum punch? Want to say to someone ‘The weather’s lovely, wish you were here’? Spice up your picture messages by adding sound or text, to really show your mates what they’re missing.
Virgin Mobile customers can snap and send to their mates on any UK mobile for a flat rate of only 30p per message, whether sending from home or abroad. And it’s free to receive picture messages.
Virgin Mobile customers with a picture messaging phone can send messages to all their mates (whether or not they have a picture messaging phone or are on another network). You can even send a message direct to an email address. If your mate doesn’t have a picture messaging phone, he will get a text telling him to view the message online. Virgin Mobile customers will be directed to the Virgin Mobile website where they can view the picture message.
Graeme Hutchinson, sales and marketing director at Virgin Mobile, said: “Text messaging has been a massive phenomenon over the past few years and picture messaging is about to take this trend to a new level, because it’s even sexier! Now Virgin Mobile customers can send photos or pictures with text and sound. Who needs clunky cameras and fiddly film, when camera phones can let you snap what you like, whenever and wherever you like, and send it to whomever you like, all at the touch of a button?”
Virgin Mobile customers with a new picture messaging phone will be able to use the service automatically, and existing customers with picture messaging phones simply need to get their picture messaging settings from Virgin Mobile by visiting www.virginmobile.com/mobile/services/messaging/ or by calling 789.
Virgin Mobile customers currently receive a host of benefits as standard, such as no line rental, a free earpiece with every phone, free voicemail and free itemised bills. In addition, texts to other Virgin Mobile customers in the UK are just 3p as standard, and picture messages are only 30p. Virgin Mobile customers can pay for their calls any way they like: by pre-pay voucher or E-Top-up, by credit or debit card or by direct debit.
