Virgin Mobile's award-winning rent escape competition is returning for its fifth consecutive year this tear, and this year's is better than ever before.
Virgin Mobile is offering you the chance to win the ultimate prize for any student- your rent paid for the year, a full bedroom makeover, your fridge filled every single term, a brand new wardrobe courtesy of the best high street shops, the latest DVD and surround sound equipment, a year's free DVD rental and free mobile phone calls for the year! All of this could be yours, and five students in Britain will win it all.
All you have to do to win is to convince the rest of the population to vote for you using your initiative, powers of persuasion and ability to blag. Last year more than 35,000 students entered the promotion, with one winner collecting more than 7,000 unique votes!
Entering Virgin Mobile's ‘Show Off' competition is easy, you simply have to register by logging onto www.studentshowoff.com or sign up with a Virgin Mobile rep on campus.
At the end of November there will be “'Show Off' nights held at 25 student unions across the UK. Registered entrants will be invited along to take part in a round of challenges competing against fellow students. Some of the things that may be expected of competitors are best celebrity impressions, attaching as many pegs as possible to their bodies, bizarre party tricks or gargling their favourite song. The three best ‘show offs' go into a grand final where they show off the party piece of their choice. The one the crowd likes best wins their place in the final – so there will be one finalist from each university.
Since the launch of its student campaign five years ago, Virgin Mobile has helped forty students escape their dreaded rent. With approximately £400,000 worth of free rent already won, it's little wonder that students across the country have resorted to stunts, stripping and sabotage to win those all important votes. So if you've ever wondered how much of a show off you could be, in return for a sorted year of student life the Show Off campaign will give you the opportunity to find out!
