Virgin Mobile voted Best Network

29/11/2005

  • Virgin Mobile voted Best Network by What Mobile’s readers in 2005

29.11.05: Virgin Mobile was this week awarded ‘Best Network’ in the What Mobile Awards, as voted for by 1,500 of the magazine’s readers. The Awards recognise both excellence and innovation in the mobile phone industry.

What Mobile magazine has been inviting readers to vote by post and online during the past three months to identify the winners of the sixteen prestigious What Mobile Awards.

In the Best Network category, readers were asked to rate their own network rather than unfairly judging another one that they don’t use – and the average score was calculated. On this basis, Virgin Mobile gained the best rating with 2.35 (1 being good, 5 being bad) beating the rest of the competition.

Tom Alexander, CEO of Virgin Mobile, said: “Being voted Best Network in the What Mobile Awards is a great coup for Virgin Mobile, particularly as it has been voted by the readers themselves. We believe we are an exceptional company, offering industry-leading service and awards like this prove that we are going from strength to strength. I would like to thank everyone who voted for us and for their ongoing support. We aim to continue to be the Best Network and we hope to win it again year after year.”

Other categories in the What Mobile Awards include Best Mobile Phone, Best MP3 Player, Best Retailer, Best Network, Most Pointless Gadget and Cover Girl of the Year.
