Sony Ericsson announced as official handset partner for Virgin Mobile's V festival 2007

23.04.07: Virgin Mobile, proud headline sponsors of the V festival for the eighth consecutive year has announced that Sony Ericsson is to be the official handset partner at this year's festival.

Rosie Newey, Head of Music Sponsorship at Virgin Mobile said: ”It's great to have Sony Ericsson on board this year, its top of the range handsets are ideal for music fans as they have a huge capacity to download and store tunes as well as images from the festival. They are a perfect partner for Virgin Mobile's V Festival and we look forward to a truly fantastic year with all the best bands.”

V Festival 2007 takes place on 18th -19th of August at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire. Acts include The Killers, Foo Fighters and Snow Patrol – also announced today are: Festival favourites Kasabian, party starter Pink, indie rockers James, legendary dance duo Basement Jaxx and Brighton pop entities The Kooks. Plus, BRIT award winner Amy Winehouse, Welsh group Manic Street Preachers, British Breakthrough Act BRIT winners The Fratellis, 2007 ‘Godlike Genius' NME award holders Primal Scream and mesmerising singer songwriter Damien Rice. Also, Britrock outfit Babyshambles, alternative Manchester group, Happy Mondays, Scottish hit Paolo Nutini, indie four piece Editors and Grammy nominated KT Tunstall. Finally, chart topper Mika, soulful solo artist James Morrison, dance floor queen Sophie Ellis Bextor, US digital sensations The Fray, celebrated return act The Proclaimers and last but by no means least, platinum selling act The Goo Goo Dolls have been signed up.
