Virgin Mobile has scooped the ‘Best New Services’ award for its 118 918 directory enquiry service, at the 118Tracker International Information Service Awards.
Held on 13/14 October in Las Vegas, USA, the international directory assistance conference and awards brings together the leaders in the search market.
Virgin Mobile's 118 918 service, operated by SpiriTel plc, from which 20p from each call goes to support two youth charities, Foyer and Kid's Company won the category beating two other finalists.
Commenting on the win, Graeme Oxby, Managing Director of Virgin Mobile said: "We're extremely pleased to accept this award, as our 118 918 service donates the most to charity out of all the 118 numbers in the UK. Not only do Foyer and Kid's Company benefit from this service, but consumers can also save themselves money as our 118 918 number is cheaper than the market leaders".
